According to a recent poll of 1,000 businesses carried out by the Edge Foundation and City & Guilds, 72% of employers now see vocational qualifications as essential and over half rate them as more valuable than academic qualifications. Companies today must have a skilled workforce to achieve strong, sustainable and balanced business growth. Training for the unemployed is also essential.
With centres in Tipton, Dudley and Bicester, the Energy Training Hub is a recognised authority and a centre of excellence for vocational training in UK electrical, gas, oil, refrigeration, petrochemical and renewable energy industries
Managing director, Christopher Dalton, says: “With the UK powering out of recession and organisations struggling to find skilled employees to grow their businesses, here at the Energy Training Hub we offer a wide range of industry-specific vocational courses in gas, oil, electrical, renewables, refrigeration, petrochemical and health & safety. We support the energy sector and work to ensure UK tradespeople are highly skilled in today’s competitive workplace.”
His aim is to make vocational training truly valued in its own right, sharing Vince Cable’s belief that “we must banish the idea that vocational training somehow just mops up anyone who doesn’t fancy or hasn’t had an academic education.” www.energytraininghub.co.uk
