OFTEC’s redeveloped site is easier to use
OFTEC has redesigned and relaunched its OFTEC Direct website, which supplies tools, books and equipment. The site is now easier to navigate with current offers all grouped together in one place. Users can order online, with the added option of paying in euros as well as UK sterling. The system now accepts laser cards, providing they are the new issue featuring the Mastercard or Visa symbols.

METAC – equipping installers for the commercial industry
Irish training provider, METAC, is now offering OFTEC’s commercial oil OFT10-201 course. The course is designed to equip installers that have already obtained OFTEC 101, 105E and 600A qualifications, to work in the commercial field.

Richard Soper, chief executive officer of Bosch Thermotechnology, which incorporates the Worcester, Bosch Group brand, has been awarded a CBE for services to the heating and renewable technologies industries. The title was pronounced in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list in June.

OFTEC has become one of the first certification bodies to gain approval from the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) for its competent persons’ scheme. In addition, the organisation has been accredited to provide a registration scheme for Green Deal installers.
