OFTEC has marked the 15th anniversary of its industry recognised Competent Persons Scheme with the news that registration numbers have hit the highest level since 2013.

The Building Services Research and Information Association (BSRIA) is concerned about the possible outcome of a government consultation in which a proposed 15% VAT hike for domestic solar panels and other renewable energy products could happen after falling foul of EU rules. The consultation closed on 3rd February, with the changes set to come into effect on 1st August, if approved.
The Federation of Petroleum Suppliers (FPS) says the price of heating oil has dropped to a ten year low for the 1.5m homes across the UK who currently use heating oil – making it far cheaper than other forms of off grid energy such as electricity and LPG and even mains gas.
