Having held similar positions with the Solar Trade Association and the Ground Source Heat Pump Association, David brings his vast experience of low carbon technologies to the role.
Against the backdrop of the Houses of Parliament, a potential venue for the IDHEE Conference in its 50th year, the directors of the IDHEE met to welcome David to his new role.
David will provide support for retiring chairman, Bill Bucknell, who will continue to administer and deliver the IDHEE Domestic Heating Design Course, which prepares installers for the Institute’s entry examination.
Bill said: “We are fortunate that someone of David’s calibre is available to continue the work of promoting sound heating design that was started in 1964 by the founder, the late E. Eric Farrow.”
David will continue to offer advice on training, design and installation of sustainable building services and specialising on renewable heat and solar, including the development of many of the new implementation tools and design and delivery of the training for the new MCS Heat Pump standard, MIS 3005 v 3.0.
David added: “I have always been a great admirer of the work done for the industry by members of the IDHEE council and I am looking forward to working with them to advance the science of domestic heating in these times of new technologies and challenges. Providing support for IDHEE members will be one of my priorities.”
