The limited edition Greenstar CDi Compact boiler – sadly, gas rather than oil – was raffled to raise money for children’s charity, Acorns Children’s Hospice.
Sue Pennington, consumer brand manager at Worcester, Bosch Group, said: “As a British heating manufacturer with a Royal Warrant, we couldn’t let such a momentous occasion pass us by. This year, we too welcomed a mini addition to the Worcester Greenstar family and so we thought it would be a great way for us to pay tribute to the future monarch by creating a blue version of our own baby boiler.”
No stranger to royal engagements, Worcester was awarded the Royal Warrant in recognition of supplying quality goods to Her Majesty, the Queen and earlier this year, Richard Soper, CEO at Worcester, Bosch Group was presented with his CBE for his services to the heating and renewable technology industries.
Rachel Cranny, corporate fundraising officer at Acorns Children’s Hospice, said: “We rely on fundraising for the majority of the £8m plus needed every year to run our vital services providing care to local life limited children and their families. The commitment of organisations like Worcester is vital to ensure we can continue our work. I’d like to say a big thank you on behalf of everyone at Acorns.”
