Kensa charity initiative supports fuel poverty action

British ground source heat pump specialist Kensa has announced a charity initiative in support of National Energy Action (NEA) with its vision to end fuel poverty in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Throughout February, Kensa employees across the UK will raise funds and awareness for NEA by collectively walking, running, cycling or swimming their way to a symbolic 6,000km target. With more than 6 million currently living in fuel poverty, each 1,000km represents one million individuals affected by the ongoing crisis.

Simultaneously raising funds and highlighting the seriousness of the crisis, Kensa will maximise its support for NEA’s vital work by matching every pound raised by employees and supporters up to a contribution of £5,000.

NEA relies on donor and partner support to continue providing life changing energy advice, financial support and Winter Warmth Support Packs to those suffering in fuel poverty. Fundraising also helps NEA’s ongoing campaigning to keep fuel-poor households at the heart of policy decisions, develop accredited training and qualifications to improve standards in advice, and undertake research and share insights to raise awareness and find solutions.

Members of the public can track Kensa’s progress throughout February via the company’s social media channels. Those looking to support the initiative and the work of National Energy Action can contribute via a dedicated JustGiving page.

Making a difference

Tamsin Lishman, CEO at Kensa, said: “We’re proud to support National Energy Action in their mission to tackle fuel poverty and assist the millions of people across the UK who are struggling with soaring energy costs. Fuel poverty affects lives in profound ways, and the funds we raise – whether providing warm essentials for vulnerable families or supporting vital community initiatives – will make a meaningful difference.

“I’m excited to join and support our dedicated team as they take on this challenge, raising both awareness and much-needed funds to help those most affected by stubbornly high energy costs.”

Jess Irwin, Fundraising Manager at National Energy Action, said: “We are incredibly excited for Kensa to be taking on their February fundraising challenge for National Energy Action. It is fantastic to see so many people committed to fighting fuel poverty and raising vital funds to help more people stay warm, safe and healthy at home.

“We look forward to working with their team and supporting them in their tremendous efforts and can’t wait to see what they will achieve together!”
